After a summary of the veterinarians’ job in the French army on the eve of the second world war, you will find the research work done in the veterinary journals of the time and also with the registry office in order to find the information about the veterinarians killed in action. The results of this research, especially the circumstances in which those men died, are detailed and analyzed. A collection of personal facts gathered about the veterinarians appears in the appendix.
